QITAF and Reagenics Join Forces to Bring the Future of Plant Cultivation to Abu Dhabi
QITAF, a wholly owned subsidiary of ADX-listed ADID, formerly BILDCO, partners with Reagenics to unlock new possibilities for high-value plant production
Abu Dhabi, UAE — October 8, 2026 — QITAF Holding, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Investment and Development PJSC (ADID), formerly BILDCO, and Reagenics Research Ltd. today signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Global Food Week, marking a shared commitment to advance a new generation of plant-based production in Abu Dhabi, beginning with saffron.
The collaboration brings together QITAF’s strong local leadership and development capabilities, as part of the publicly listed ADID group, with Reagenics’ pioneering plant-cell cultivation platform. Together, the companies aim to turn scientific innovation into high-value commercial opportunities, supporting Abu Dhabi’s growth as a destination for advanced agricultural and food technologies.
For QITAF, the partnership advances the group’s strategic expansion into agriculture, food and the bioeconomy. For Reagenics, it creates an opportunity to bring its proprietary technology to Abu Dhabi alongside a partner whose development ambitions connect innovation with lasting economic value.
Reagenics’ technology opens a new path for cultivating nature’s potential: producing valuable plant-based materials year-round in controlled environments, beyond the seasonal and geographical constraints of conventional agriculture. The partnership aims to bring this capability to the UAE and create a foundation for new products, businesses and future growth.
“Abu Dhabi actively advances innovation that creates lasting economic opportunities,” said Shamsa Sulaiman AlFahim, CEO of QITAF Holding. “As part of ADID, QITAF is advancing the group’s ambition to develop new industries and high-value businesses. Our partnership with Reagenics brings a distinctive technology into that ambition, combining strong local leadership with new possibilities for production in the UAE. Beginning with saffron, we see an opportunity to create lasting commercial value and a platform for further innovation.”
“Reagenics stands for a new way to cultivate nature’s potential,” said Eran Lagon, CEO of Reagenics. “We are honoured to partner with QITAF, part of the ADID group, to bring this capability to Abu Dhabi. Our proprietary technology opens possibilities that conventional cultivation cannot readily offer, while QITAF brings the strong local leadership and development capabilities to help turn those possibilities into commercial reality. Together, we aim to create something with lasting value for the UAE and markets beyond it.”
Saffron is the first expression of a broader shared ambition: to establish Abu Dhabi as a base for innovative plant cultivation and the development of high-value food and wellness products. The partnership connects pioneering biotechnology with the strategic ambitions of an established public company, creating new opportunities to cultivate, produce and grow.
